At first you will join a beginners class along with other people around your age where you will learn about Judo and some basic skills such as how to tie your belt, bowing , falling and rolling.  After a maximum of four weeks you can apply for  club membership.

To take part in Judo you must complete a consent form, signed by a parent or guardian.  Please bring the completed consent form with you to your first night of Judo and wear  jogging bottoms and a T shirt.  Without a consent form you can't take part.

After trying Judo and learning some basic judo skills for a maximum of four weeks you should ask for a membership form or speak to the Coach (Sensei) about becoming a member.  All club members must also join Judo Scotland which is the sport's governing body.  This will allow you to recieve your red belt and Judo Licence book and make you eligible for gradings.  Judo Scotland membership provides insurance cover and an official record is kept of your progress in the sport.
