Firstly you will join a beginners class at the start of the school term along with other people of similar age.  You will learn about Judo and some basic skills such as how to tie your belt, bowing , falling and rolling and when you are ready you can progress to club membership.

To take part in Judo you must complete a consent form, signed by a parent or guardian.  Please bring the completed consent form with you to your first night of Judo and wear  jogging bottoms and a T shirt.  Without this consent form you can't take part.

After trying Judo and learning basic judo skills speak to the Senior Coach (Sensei) about becoming a member.  Club members must also join Judo Scotland which is the sport's governing body.  This will allow you to recieve your red belt and Judo Licence book and make you eligible for gradings.  Judo Scotland membership provides insurance cover and an official record is kept of your progress in the sport.
