Notes for Parents
As part of the the BJA-Judo Scotland child protection policy our qualified coaches all have disclosure certificates. All of the coaching team have completed a Safeguarding and Protecting Children Course as part of their coaching course. Child protection is a standing item at our yearly AGM and the Child Welfare Officer (Judith) reports on progress in this important area.
Judith's remit as Independant Club Welfare Officer is to assist with the policy implementation and to ensure the policy is adhered to by the coaching team. Judith is a qualified Social Worker and has a wealth of practical experience.

In practice on club training nights in an attempt to keep it simple and open:

  • All lessons are entirely 'on the mat' in plain view of all.
  • No leader is alone with children.
  • Parents are encouraged to watch the lessons.

Note  the coaches are busy on the mat during classes so we would ask that parents or guardians supervise changeing, loo visits and such like, the coaches wont do this.

If you have any concerns or need clarification on any issue please speak to Judith or contact her by phone on 01721-721156 or by email.
